When a consumer initially joins an email list they are the most engaged with the brand and have the most potential for conversion. This is why the welcome series is an important point of communication between the Clarks brand and the consumer, it introduces them to the brand and creates expectations for the relationship to come. When I redesigned the Welcome series we saw 70% increase click rate in the first email, and a 35% increase across the series in the first five months.
